Rotary Albert Park supports Solar Smiles Dental Charity providing free preventative and relief of pain dentistry by taking Australian dental teams to developing countries & partnering with local dental professionals using their innovative Solar Powered Backpack dental chairs.  In 2017 they delivered $126,665 free treatment to a rural school in Soksan Village, Cambodia and provided toothbrushes to Vietnam, Fiji & Timor Leste.  2018 plans include supporting up to 1500 students and adults in rural Timor Leste & 100 students in Siem Reap Cambodia.
In April, 2018, a team did a fact finding trip to Timor Leste to identify 5 schools with approx 1400 kids to look after for the next 3 years. In March there was a mini cyclone that has ripped roofs off traditional huts in rural areas of Maubisse leaving many in the community without shelter, so bags of clothing were also purchased for distribution.  See (here) for some photos
The volunteer itinerary for November's trips to Timor Leste has now been prepared, see (here)
