“Rotarians and Edmonton Grads: How Were They Connected?”
When The Edmonton Commercial Graduates Basketball Club began in 1915, it soon became apparent to Coach Percy Page that he needed help from the  Edmonton business community to promote the team and assist with financial matters. This slide presentation provides a brief look at the history of the Grads, their amazing record, and an exploration of how Edmonton Rotarians helped to make the Grads a hugely successful team.

The Edmonton Grads were a Canadian women's basketball team based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada active from 1912 – 1940. Coached by J Percy Page, the team continues to hold the North American record for the women's sports team with the best winning percentage. The Grads won the first women's world title in basketball in 1924. Wikipedia

Ann Hall has been “retired” for almost as long but has continued to research and publish mainly in the area of Canadian sports history. She is the author or coauthor of several books, the most recent being Educating the Body: A History of Physical Education in Canada, currently being published through the University of Toronto Press. Her next book project tells the story of an unheralded Canadian woman athlete from the late-nineteenth century – a successful ornamental and tank swimmer – who performed in variety and vaudeville theatres throughout Canada and the USA. Still physically active,  Ann enjoys hiking, swimming, Pickleball, and travel.
