Pearce Hana: Canada!

Pearce Hana (ENSC/BATC) rocked it on Friday at the National Team Trials, finishing in 6th place, 1:13 (3.3%) behind the winner, Nathan Smith, who won World Cup Gold in 2014-2015. With this excellent result, Pearce, who still calls Edmonton Nordic home, secured a spot on the IBU Cup Team for 2015. He will be in Italy and Austria for the IBU Cups before Christmas. That’s Pearce in the caption photo, leaving the range seconds behind Nathan Smith.

This result also secured Pearce a spot on the World Jr. Championship Team (pre-selected ) for 2016. The WYJCH take place in Romania this coming January. This will be Pearce’s 3rd trip to WYJHC. Also selected to the IBU Cup Team were Matt Neuman, Scott Perras and Carsen Campbell, who belong to earlier generations of Canadian Biathletes.

Pearce is fundraising for his big travel bills for the season on his Make a Champ site, so if you know  a sponsor or have a few dollars to share, you can contribute to this local lad’s continued success.

We look forward to hearing about his IBU Cup adventures first hand when he returns to the Range over Christmas.
