Misión Claridad (or Mission Clarity) is a annual project lead by Riverview Rotarian Paul Dusseault and his wife Cynthia. A team of 21 eye professionals traveled to Ecuador in October in 2023, including Riverview Rotarians Norm Johnson (past President and Optician) and Marg McCuaig-Boyd (current  Riverview President). 80 Cataract surgeries were performed, 350 eye exams done and 240 pairs of glasses were recently hand delivered to individuals in Ecuador. Many thanks to everyone involved.

This project, planned during the pandemic, has successfully sent medical teams twice to Cuenca, Ecuador. The first team of 12 eye professionals travelled to Ecuador in September 2022. More recently, in October 2023, a larger team of 21 made the trek to provide cataract surgery, eye exams and  ophthalmology equipment to a public hospital. On both missions, Riverview Rotarians Norm Johnson (and wife Dianne) and Marg McCuaig-Boyd were also part of the team (part of the Optometry team).

A follow-up trip was required to deliver corrective glasses to those examined by the optometry team.  Todate, this project has performed 236 cataract surgeries and provided glasses to 370 low income individuals.
