At this morning's meeting, we headed outside for a unique "ambulance blessing" by Father Mark Bayrock and the chance to wish Roman Bayrock and Sandra Bayrock a safe journey. On Friday they will be hitting the road as part of the “Highway to Mexico” convoy. Started in 2002 by the Swan City Rotary Club of Grande Prairie, the “Highway to Mexico has, over the years, brought together several Rotary clubs and many Rotarians in a unique mission to personally deliver emergency vehicles, school buses and other equipment to Mazatlán, Mexico. Here, in the province of Sinaloa, lives are changed and lives are saved by these vehicles and this equipment. Roman and Sandra will be driving an ambulance donated by our club, and Roman sourced the 80 wheelchairs that will be transported by the 10 vehicles in the convoy. Buen viaje, Roman and Sandra!
