HSMUN 2013
Thank you everyone for the showing your support for the 490 High School students at the opening of HSMUN 2013. These students will grapple with global issues of significance over the next two days.
The High School Model United Nations will address:
Polio Eradication,
Humanitarian Aid in Conflict Areas,
Right to Protect Civilians in Conflict Areas,
Nuclear program verification protocols, and
other gritty issues of our times.
Your presence encouraging them to get involved and experience the first-hand the rewards and frustrations of international relations means a lot to these students. It may not be cool to express it outright, I know they want to be seen, challenged by leaders in the "real world" and invited to get involved and rise to the occasion - It is Your World. In this 'High Tech" world there may be even a greater need for the power of the "High Touch" counterpart - Face-to-Face Communication.
