At Pharmacare, we believe that our clients should have access to the highest quality healthcare within their community at the highest standards of safety and scope of pharmacy practice.  To realize this vision, we have invested in community retail centers, mobile clinical teams and a Pharmacy Fulfillment Center that is an industry leader in safety, information security, timely distribution and compliance packaging.  This breadth of service makes Pharmacare a truly integrated healthcare company with a proven track record of maximizing our patients’ health outcomes.

The average pharmacist age at Pharmacare is between 30 and 32 years old. Pharmacare focuses on care plans rather than the drugs.  Primarily for assisted living facilities and home care, Pharmacare is investing in the youthful pharmacist.  The goal of Pharmacare is to focus on the 20% of clients that need more help versus client volume like Shoppers, Rexall and Safeway Pharmacy.

Pharmacare packages everything based on the need of the individual client.  Their machine puts all the clients drugs into strips of plastic for ease of use. A medication detection devise is used for every package to photograph and weigh to ensure that meds are correct.  Pharmacists will then double check prior to dispensing. The pharmacist’s hand delivers the packages directly to the client and speaks one-on-one with them.  Pharmacists also check all the meds people are taking to ensure that there are no complications with mixed medications.  This process ensures better patient outcomes.  There are also specialized staff in different areas, such as diabetes.

The goal of Pharmacare is to provide better service and to keep it simple and easy for the client.
The company is also equipped to handle a disaster. With their current plan they are able to respond quickly and efficiently to problems.  For example, in the case of the Whitemud fire that destroyed a seniors condo unit, Pharmacare was able to respond to the displaced residents within 45 minutes with replacement medications.
