Community Services 2013 Update
Rotary's primary motto is "Service above Self", join Riverview Rotarians in the community at one or more of the following events:
Spruce Avenue School: Rocky Mountain Experience [RME]
Date: May 11 & 12
The RME is our Club’s second student field trip program. Rotarians take 10 students to Nordegg, Alberta for an outdoor hiking adventure. We participate in two hikes, one on Saturday afternoon and one on Sunday. The group spends the night at the Nordegg youth hostel and are responsible for cooking food, cleaning and keeping organized.
Two Rotarians are needed for this event.
Norwood School: Rocky Mountain Experience [RME]
Date: May 25 & 26
This will be the second RME for this Rotary year. Once again, two Rotarians will be needed for this trip as well.
OFSS Dinner – Part II
Date: TBD [June??]
This will be our third and last Operation Friendship dinner for the Rotary year. I’ve had discussions with Jimmy from OFSS and we’re talking about doing something a bit different for this spring dinner. We are considering maybe and outdoor BBQ event. Possibly at lunch time on a Saturday. Nothing is finalized yet but we thought that it would be great to end the year with something special.
