Another first in Belize

Belize has been afflicted with a recent rash of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and the Karl Heuser hospital in Belize City has begun building a neonatal ward.

Friends of Riverview Rotary Club have graciously donated about 22 high end medical incubators surplus from a new hospital in Dawson Creek that is equipping themselves with new units.

These incubators were delivered to the Emmanuel Foundation who were very excited to receive them. So far they have been sent to many places around the world. We were able and to acquire 6 units along with 5 large baby warmers to support this new neonatal unit.

From a gracious grant from the Club's International Committee of about $2,000, we were able to transport these units along with a playground destined for Belize. We have been working with the with Sunrise Rotary Club of Belize City to ensure these items are received in Belize. The Hospital confirmed with a technician versed in these units that they were of high quality and very desirable. We made front page news with this donation. Watch for your opportunity to come own to Belize in November 2016.
