One Health Scholarship Recipient

Dr. Adrien Ntawari, DVM, is a 2020 Riverview Rotary One Health Scholarship recipient. The Riverview Rotary One Health Scholarship is a 2 year Masters Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Health and Management at the Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. The One Health Scholarship places emphasis on the concept that people, wildlife and the environment are inextricably linked. The scholarship candidates will provide leadership and management to protect and improve the health and economic welfare of local communities.

Dr. Ntwari completed his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Rwanda in 2016 and then served as a veterinary intern with Gorilla Doctors, receiving training in One Health through work on the PREDICT project. He was one of a handful of elite students selected to participate in UC Davis’ Rx One Health course in summer 2017. He then worked to help with our US Embassy-funded project to improve hygiene infrastructure and practice for the Volcanoes National Park.
