SAVE THE DATE: Tuesday, October 27, 2026

Music Mends Minds Edmonton started in 2023 to provide a welcoming, supportive community for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Every Tuesday, we gather to sing beloved "golden oldies" and enjoy social connection.

Our numbers have grown steadily and currently about 40 participants attend weekly, half of whom are living with dementia. We all find joy and connection in singing these familiar songs. Our songbook has grown to more than 170 pages and is continually expanding.

Our two paid professional musicians, Alieda Jaehn and Cherie Larson, are essential to the program, creating a warm, encouraging environment where everyone feels welcome. We are equally grateful to St. George's Anglican Church for providing an inviting home for our weekly gatherings.

Music Mends Minds Edmonton has been sustained through small grants and generous individual donations, but these funds will be exhausted by year-end. As we seek long-term funding, we are asking our friends and supporters to help ensure this valuable program continues.

Please join us for our Inaugural Fundraiser on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church (11733-87 Ave NW). The evening will feature a performance by Cantilon Choir and a presentation by Dr. Valerie Sim—board member, research neurologist, and accomplished violinist—on the powerful role music plays in supporting brain health and well-being. A wine and cheese social will follow.

We hope you'll save the date and join us for this special evening! There is no fee to attend, but please RSVP using the link below or call 780-966-9861 to reserve your spot.
