District Governor Visit

Our speaker this week was our District Governor Ingrid Nesitch
Our International Rotary President this year is Barry Razin from the Bahamas. His theme for the year is “Be the Inspiration”
His mission is to engage the Rotary Membership around the world to build a better world.
Ingrid shared an inspirational story about a Zimbabwean woman named Terrari who was married at 14, a mother of 4 by 18 then earned a Phd in the US and returned to Ziimbabwe to run an Oprah funded school.

Overheard at Breakfast on November 7 2018
We had a great turnout to hear from out District Governor Ingrid Neitsch
  1. Lorn Parker led us in a brief remembrance ceremony including a rendition of In Flanders Fields by Dave Winfield
  2. Several of our members had attended a play (hosted by our Club) at the Varscona Theater. The play was based upon skits written by a PPCLI entertainment corp in the First World War. It was very entertaining and moving.
  3. District Governor Ingrid Neitch helped us to induct our newest member, Gary Smith;
  4. President David Keam summarized the Club’s upcoming schedule;
    1. Next Wednesday, November 14 there will be no scheduled meeting but there will be a gathering of any interested members who want to meet up for breakfast in the restaurant;
    2. November 21, evening meeting at the faculty Club. The Honorable Anne Mclellan
    3. November 28, 2018 Annual General Meeting including
      1. Resolution to update Club By-Laws;
      2. Election of President elect
