Our speaker this week was Margaret Goldberg from Community Options.

Community Options is a non-profit charitable organization, registered in 1976, which has provided services to children and their families since 1977 in the Edmonton and the surrounding area. Community Options' priority at all times is the well-being of children, families and communities.

Community Options offers extra support through it’s inclusive early learning and childcare programs to provide an optimal opportunity for children to achieve goals and maximize their potential. Community Options offers an enriching experience, positively impacting lifelong learning, behaviour, health and quality of life. The role of parents in childcare and upbringing remains of primary importance; the supportive relationship between staff and families is key to success in the services we offer. Our early learning and care options are characterized by a curriculum based on children’s development needs and interests, trained teaching staff, specialized support services and continued leadership facilitating program improvement.

This is an important organisation in our City and we thank Margaret for introducing us to it.

Overheard at Breakfast on Wednesday April 17, 2019;

I         We cooked supper at the Mustard Seed Church on the 18^th. Thank to everyone who turned out to help. It is a great experience;

2.       There will be a robust reds Committee meeting at Ken Saunder’s house on Tuesday Aril 23^rd

3.       Shannon’s changeover party will be at the Kinsmen hall on June 15^th.

4.       Gary Smith was our fines master again this week. He presented us with Rotary trivia questions.

5.       Several of our members had attended Brian Hamilton’s birthday party. They reported that it was a great party and our Club was very wel represented;

6.       Elizabeth reported that the wine raffle for Polio Plus was a great success. We raised over $1,700 for Polio Plus and the winners were;

7.       On Wednesday we will not have a Rotary meeting. Some of us will, instead, meet for breakfast at the IHOP;
