Our speaker this week was Simran Dhillon.Simran was the president of the Harry Ainlay high school Interact Club and she is the one who was instrumental in getting that Club restarted.
She has gone on to Univiersity and she has created Youth - lead initiative she calls called F.L.Y or FLY.
F.L.Y stands for First Love Yourself it is a creative program designed for at-risk children, they conduct projects that are focused on arts/crafts, experimental, and educational projects that have shown to have proven benefits on a child’s development. Through creativity and curiosity, F.L.Y aims to teach children the importance of thinking outside the box and understanding their full, unique potential.
She started this program, where the principal identified children who had at-risk living environments. Her and her friends worked alongside these students.
Simran gave a great presentation. She is clearly a very bright young woman who is making a difference.
