Overheard at Breakfast on September 12th , 2018
- We had a much better turnout this week We completely filled 4 tables!
- Team 2 ran the meeting again this week. Ed Korbyl (who ran the entire meeting for his team last week) was not there but Lionell and Pat Coyle stepped in and did a great job.
- Pat Coyle reported that Robust Reds Committee is still looking for silent auction items.
- Lorne has starting planning for a Club trip to Xia Xia this spring. If you are interested in joining him please let him know
- Tony Thibeadeau is putting a team together for a Bowlathon fundraiser for “Food for Good”. If you would like to join him give him a call.
- We did not have a speaker this week. We spent a good portion of the meeting enjoying each other’s company. My table included Wyatt Libiron from the U of A Rotaract Club. Wyatt is also an interpreter at Fort Edmonton. We started our conversation talking about the period of warm weather in the fall after our first taste of winter. Then Wyatt gave us a fascinating history lesson about the history of Edmonton and how the natives in our area were treated at the turn of the last century.
- Remember this year’s District Conference is in Edmonton. Friday October 18 to October 20
- Our Club should make an effort to have a good showing as t is in town this year;
- The Club pays the registration costs
- Elisabeth says the ball is always a lot of fun!
