David Keam collected fines. He asked current affairs questions but somehow they all turned out to be connected to the  Roughriders.
Pat gave a preliminary report from our Robust Reds Wine tasting event. Although our attendance was down from last year he is optimistic that revenues are up.
Ken Saunders reported back from the District conference. He reported that it was a great event with good speakers, all of whom had a personal connection with Rotary. One of the announcements was that Rotary has removed the classification restrictions on membership.
Our club has rented booked the full theater at Shadow theater on the evening of November 7. Please plan to attend.
Our speaker next week will be Heather McPherson, NDP MP.
Our speaker this week was Val Kennedy, the Green party candidate for Edmonton Riverbend. She talked about the Green Party’s objectives and the urgency of addressing climate change. She talked about the importance of communication and working together.
She told us that the Green Party is not a single issue party. It’s platform is about much more than just addressing climate change and she encouraged us to check out their platform on their websitehttps://www.greenparty.ca/en/riding/2013-48018.
Val gave a very emotional and moving presentation.
