Well, we had our first virtual Pub night of the pandemic. It is not the same as the real thing.
On the bright side;
- The drinks are cheaper;
- You don’t have to drive after drinking and;
- You don’t have to get out of bed to participate; but
On the dark side;
- If you want to eat something you have to prepare it yourself
- You are still at home; and;
- It is just not the same
Steve announced that he is about to become a grandfather again. His daughter, Breanne, is due to have her first baby in February;
Judy lamented about the menagerie she has in her home. It includes birds, dogs and even hermit crabs! Kids grow up and leave home but their pets stay behind!
David Keam shared some inside information about the production and content of his https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/loose-and-conversational-david-keam-yhrV7aOqH45/#images pod cast. It is a fun podcast but definitely not for the prudish audience.
I have contacted the United Nations to arrange for a virtual tour and presentation for our Club. They will provide speakers on the following topics;
• UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
• Peacekeeping Issues
• Security Council Issues and Sanctions Issues
• Economic Development
• Sustainable Development and Environmental Issues
• The UN and Civil Society/Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
• Disarmament Issues
• Humanitarian Affairs
• Women’s Issues
• Human Trafficking
• Refugee Issues
• Human Rights
I would like input from everyone on our choice of topic.
