Overheard at Breakfast on December 5  2018
We had a great meeting this week.
Our guest speaker this week was Brent Francis from the  Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. https://www.edmontonchamber.com/policy/ Brent talked about;
  1. The Mission of the Chamber of Commerce
  2. The ways (advocate, educate and connect) it works to towards it’s mission and;
  3. Some of the Chamber’s current activities.
Brent talked about;                                                             
  1. The property tax load on businesses in Edmonton
  2. The challenges to business presented by the increase in minimum wage, carbon taxes and changes to federal income tax
  3. Economic challenges from the oil price differential and inability to get pipeline approvals
