Overheard at Breakfast on June 20, 2018
- We passed a resolution to provide funding to sponsor the barbecue for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta’s annual Hope Classic fundraiser. It is my understanding that that event will be Saturday August 11. http://www.sbhana.org/events/hope-classic/ . Doug has promised to forward more information. This is a great cause and we sponsored this organisation fairly significantly in the past. I strongly encourage members to get involved.
- Our former member, Rami Bader dropped by for a visit. It was great to see him.
- Brian Liddell announced that we have increased our Scholarships for this year. We will be awarding $1,500 to 3 deserving high school graduates. They will each join us for breakfast to receive their check and to allow us to meet them. (our first recipient, Sarah Peeling, will join us this Wednesday).
- I am advised that we had a great turnout for the Tree Planting. I can report, from personal experience, that the after party at Ken’s was great!
- David Dorcus reported that our annual golf event will be August at Pineridge Golf Course. If you have not told him whether or not you will attend. Please do so as soon as you can.
