Overheard at Breakfast on June 27, 2018
- Sarah Peeling and her dad, Barry, joined us for breakfast. Sarah is one of the recipients of our annual scholarship. She is graduating from Harry Ainlee this year and will be going to the U of A this fall. Congratulations to Sarah and her parents.
- Wyatt Liboiron from the University of Alberta Rotaract Club joined us to meet Sarah and to introduce her to his Club.
- Our tree planting crew reported that they planted 250 trees and the crew had a great time
- Our outgoing president Al Stuart thanked his outgoing board and presented each of the with a gift
- President Al then announced Presidential “Above and Beyond” awards to Lorne Parker, Nadia Devenz and Elizabeth Bonkink
- I remind you that Doug McEwan has asked for volunteers to man the BBQ at the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta’s annual Hope Classic fundraiser on Saturday August 11. http://www.sbhana.org/events/hope-classic/ . Please let Doug know if Doug you can help. This is a great cause and we sponsored this organisation fairly significantly in the past. I strongly encourage members to get involved.
- David Dorcus reminded us our annual golf event will be August at Pineridge Golf Course. If you have not told him whether or not you will attend. Please do so as soon as you can.
- Incoming president David Keam then assumed control of our meeting and presented Al Stuart with his past president pin and plaque.
