We had a great virtual meeting this week.
Although we had a fun and informative conversation our attendance was pretty small. I counted only 8 people in attendance.
Judy told us about a Nobel Prize winner who recently spoke to the City. He is a U of A professor and a virologist (i think). She was impressed with him but pretty distressed by his observation that many of the issues we are dealing with with Covid were disclosed with our Sars experience. We should have been ready.
Elisabeth and Gary showed off their puppy. He is going to be huge!
We had an extended discussion about the Covid vaccine rollout. Elisabeth advised that there are predictions, based upon the vaccine availability projections that we will not have everyone vaccinated for at least another year.
Gary and Lorne gave us an interesting discussion on education theory and the opportunities and challenges of on line learning. Lorne described the syetem we were educated in as a “cells and bells” system.
Judy reported that Agnes’ health battles are ongoing but she is in good spirits. Our thoughts and prayers are with her.
Pat reminded us that despite Covid and our fundraising challenges we have made some donations recently.
-$2,000 to Yona. The Winspear Center is closed so their check is in the mail;
- $1,000 to Mozambique for maintenance fund
Elisabeth reported that there are volunteer opportunities at the Mustard Seed. If you are interested please let her know.
