Overheard at Breakfast on August 29th , 2018
- We had a very disappointing turnout this week We barely filled 2 tables!
- We did not have a speaker this week. We spent a good portion of the meeting reminiscing about our good friend Alan Stuart and sharing stories.
- This meeting was a Club assembly so we board members provided their reports;
- Treasurer’s report;
- We just received funds from our Casino ($75,000.00 +/-)
- Our finances are in good shape;
- Community report
- Plans are underway to fund a Shadow theater production on the night of November 7th. The theater will perform a historical musical review that was written and performed by WWI soldiers. We will have the entire theater and we will host military members and their families
- We are sponsoring a volunteer for the Dreams take Flight trip. A Rotaracter has agreed to travel as our representative. We will need volunteers to help at the airport;
- The Community Committee is also working on
- Mustard Seed volunteer nights;
- A visit to the Jasper Place Wellness center
- Christmas Hampers;
- Social
- Plans are underway for our Christmas party. It will be at Normands again. Stay tuned for more information.
- Robust Reds Report
- Ticket sales are going well
- Still need wine and silent auction items
- Treasurer’s report;
- Elizabeth Bonkink reminded everyone that this years District Conference is in Edmonton. Friday October 18 to October 20
- Our Club should make an effort to have a good showing as t is in town this year;
- The Club pays the registration costs
- Elizabeth says the ball is always a lot of fun!
