Overheard at Breakfast on August 29th , 2018
  1. We had a very disappointing turnout this week We barely filled 2 tables!
  2. We did not have a speaker this week. We spent a good portion of the meeting reminiscing about our good friend Alan Stuart and sharing stories.
  3. This meeting was a Club assembly so we board members provided their reports;
    1. Treasurer’s report;
      1. We just received funds from our Casino ($75,000.00 +/-)
      2. Our finances are in good shape;
    2. Community report
      1. Plans are underway to fund a Shadow theater production on the night of November 7th. The theater will perform a historical musical review that was written and performed by WWI soldiers. We will have the entire theater and we will host military members and their families
      2. We are sponsoring a volunteer for the Dreams take Flight trip. A Rotaracter has agreed to travel as our representative. We will need volunteers to help at  the airport;
      3. The Community Committee is also working on
        1. Mustard Seed volunteer nights;
        2. A visit to the Jasper Place Wellness center
        3. Christmas Hampers;
    3. Social
      1. Plans are underway for our Christmas party. It will be at Normands again. Stay tuned for more information.
    4. Robust Reds Report
      1. Ticket sales are going well
      2. Still need wine and silent auction items
  4. Elizabeth Bonkink reminded everyone that this years District Conference is in Edmonton. Friday October 18 to October 20
    1. Our Club should make an effort to have a good showing as t is in town this year;
    2. The Club pays the registration costs
    3. Elizabeth says the ball is always a lot of fun!
