Local Projects with a Youth Focus
- Sponsored Interact Club at Carnegie Vanguard HS (2015 – Present) & Many District Youth Programs
- Led by Skyliners Meghan Lutschg/Dan Stark/Natalie Cras/Ed Petitt, we have sponsored the AWESOME Interact Club at Carnegie Vanguard HS and led/volunteered at Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Interact/Rotaract District Conferences and numerous more District 5890 initiatives aimed at youth.
- Designed and installed Rotary Dynamo Soccer Field at Community Family Centers in Houston’s East End
- Brought together Houston Dynamo Charities & Rotary District 5890 to build youth soccer field
- Designed & installed edible garden at the Port of Houston Elementary School in Houston’s East End, with Urban Harvest (Spring 2009)
- Health & Wellness Fair at Tellepsen Family YMCA (Spring 2011)
- Led by Skyliner Suzanne Murdock, we organized vision, hearing and dental screenings; Brought in multiple community partners to educate on living a healthy lifestyle
- Partnered with Iwrite (founded by Skyliner Melissa Williams) on a number of their literacy youth initiatives
- Partnered with Kinkaid High School Student Lauren Siegel & teammates to Organize Summer Youth Soccer Camps at Julia C. Hester House (2012 and 2013)
- Led Rotary District 5890’s Recruitment Efforts/Interviewing for Ambassadorial Scholarships
- Tutoring Program with Houston Dynamo Academy – tutored Dynamo Academy players (2009-2010)
