Join Skyline for a special presentation by club member, Ed Pettitt, and special guests.
More than 4,400 Afghan refugees have resettled in Texas since the U.S. withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and the Taliban takeover. Hear from two of them - an Afghan Air Force Academy graduate and a U.S. Embassy interpreter - about their experiences working as American allies and their evacuation to Houston. Learn about their current struggles in Houston, the current situation in Afghanistan, and what you can do to help.
While Skyline usually provides both Zoom and in-person meeting options, this presentation will be in-person only. No Zoom option will be available.
COVID Update: The safety of all members and guests is important to Skyline. All members and guests should remain properly masked inside the meeting room at Strato 550 as well as on the elevators. Please be mindful to maintain social distancing and confirm consent before offering hugs, handshakes, or other close-contact between friends and guests.
First time guests: Parking is free in the adjacent lot. Our meeting room is inside the Strato restaurant on the 43rd floor. There is no cost to attend our meetings.
