Nebraska Environmental Trust - August 25

President Message
Last week I wrote about rotary intersections.  So, having a focus on “Rotary”, I wondered about similarities between Rotary Club and rotary engines.  Although not common in modern automobiles, I do remember in the past, rotary engines were offered in some models.

Rotary Blood Drive

There are four Lincoln Rotary Clubs with a collective membership of about 380 men and women from all walks of life and professions who have decided to come together to answer the call for blood donations in the Lincoln community.

More than 50% of the blood supply was lost when community blood drives were cancelled due to COVID-19 this year, and the supply remains low. There have been days when less than a 3-day supply of all blood types were available. The Rotary Club members are being motivated and encouraged to personally commit and get their spouses and adult family members to donate blood. This involves making their own appointments with the Nebraska Community Blood Bank and donating by the end of September. We are all familiar with the daily deluge of appeals for money for the myriad of charitable organizations. Blood donation is a way to be of immediate service to the local community without reaching for the checkbook or wallet!

Please join us in building up the Nebraska Community Blood Bank’s supply!
