January 26, 2022 -- Donna Gustafson
Donna Gustafson spoke to us about how you could take a photo and let it tell a story.  Donna started taking pictures when she was quite young and they were of her pets.  She took those pet photos (black and white) and entered them in the County Fair.  Later she started taking photos of her children for Christmas Cards and eventually she decided she wanted to continue taking pictures.  She has had no training, except learning from two other photographers and other individuals.  She learned to post some of these photos on websites, but before doing those websites, she needed to invest some money to purchase some good photographic equipment.
She told us that you can take some really good photos with cell phones today and download them into apps that will help you filter out certain things or let you crop what you just want for your photo either from the computer or the cell phone.
President Message
This week I am going to give in to one of my biases, the reality of the value of the lessons from the Bible.  I recently read Solomon’s contemplation of life that he penned in the book of Ecclesiastes.  Perhaps knowing that his reign and his life would end one day, he left words of wisdom as a legacy for his children.  I believe that no matter the basis of your faith, there are life lessons that can be learned from Solomon’s life experiences.  He conveys the perils of pleasure in Ecclesiastes 2, the value of wisdom in chapters 7 and 9, and the need for a balanced life in chapter 7.
