Treva Haugaard (pronounced tree-va how-gard) was appointed Executive Director of the Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation (CINCF) in May 2019 and has served in this capacity for over three years.
Haugaard earned Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and a Master of Public Administration and Social Work from the University of Nebraska Omaha. She is a graduate of the Nonprofit Executive Institute and the Omaha Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Capacity Building Program. Haugaard has served on the Sarpy County CASA Advisory Board and Nebraska Ataxia.
Warren Nelson, owner of Valhalla Bee Farm, told us about bees. There is the Queen Bee, Workers and Drones. Did you know that bees are very important because they are the leading pollinators in the world. We humans depend on pollinators to help produce food crops. These pollinated crops contribute to one-third of the world’s food supply.

The Annual Salute to Business by the Rotary Clubs of Lincoln honors a company in Lincoln. All Rotarians were invited to vote to determine the recipient of the annual award. The 4 Rotary Clubs of Lincoln - Lincoln 14, Lincoln East, Lincoln Giving Spirits Evening and Lincoln South will hold the annual Salute To Business on November 1 at the Cornhusker. The Honoree will be Sampson Construction.

Dear Jerry, I so enjoyed being with you and your club this week. I forgot one very important item…my Paul Harris Challenge. If anyone in your club makes a donation of $100 or more to the Rotary Foundation or Polio Plus in the next couple of weeks, their name will go in a drawing. In preparation for my DG year, I saved my Paul Harris points. At the end of the year, I will draw 4 names to receive a Paul Harris award.
I would appreciate it if you would announce this next week and maybe add to your newsletter. Please just have them let you know if they make a donation in the next couple of weeks. We use the Four Way Test:). It is a good time since World Polio Day is October 24 so some may want to give to polio.

Even with the vaccine, we continue to keep all of our teachers, school officials, and students, EMT's and first responders, hospital doctors and nurses, supermarket clerks, restaurant workers laid off or furloughed and waiting for unemployment, all those who are currently unemployed, human service organizations who still are open to serve those poor/homeless/hungry, funeral home workers, churches, airline employees, hotel employees, gas station and convenience store workers.
If you know of any of our members you would like for us to mention who are ill or need prayer, please let Greg know and we will put it in the SPOKE.
