1. President Tony called the meeting to order at 11:45 am.
2. No guests today.
3. Health of the Club – we are all well.
4. Announcements
a. Tony expressed a vote of thanks to Carman and his team for their recent work in the Butterfly Park. Carman advised that a bit more work needs to be done (laying of mulch) and also that the City will donate the mulch. Watch for the call for help soon.
b. Tony has received an e-mail advising of a coming Rotary initiative for polio vaccinations to Nigerian in November. If anyone is interested, please contact Tony for details.
c. Dan Macp reminded all to please return your suggestion sheets for next year’s Rotary Gala Live Auction suggestions ASAP.
5. Greeters were absent today, so Tony called for Happy Bucks. Bonnie, Roy W, Jim, Roy F, Jenn, David T, Dan Macp and Ray were all happy!
6. Guest Speaker – as there wasn’t a guest speaker scheduled for today, President Tony briefed the meeting on his involvement with the Camrose Transit Advisory Committee over the past two years. There will be a trial of the proposed system this fall, and it has been decided to trial a system of assisted transportation for those in our community who are served by our many social agencies. Tony’s presentation is attached below.
8. The weekly 50/50 draw was won by Paul P, who continued the unlucky drawing for that elusive 3 of clubs. The August Rotary Cares was won by Doug Berg of Camrose.
9. With Labour Day next Monday, that meeting is cancelled. The next meeting is Monday September 14th.
NEXT MEETING - Monday, September 14th at 1145AM in the Regal Ballroom of the Best Western Plus Camrose Resort Casino.
Greeters: David Stolee and Maurice Francoeur
Program: Ron Grue - Belize // Bruce Hinkley - Government Funding and Grants
