Welcome to our new inbound Rotary Youth Exchange student.

Margot Paine will be our club's inbound Rotary Youth Exchange student for the 2010-2011 school year.

Margot's home is in L'Houmeau, a community close to La Rochelle on the west coast of France. Her mother Laurence is a school teacher and her step-father Charles is a sales representative. She has two younger half brothers named Antoine and Alexandre. Margot was born in Minneapolis, USA, and moved with her mother to France as a young child. She has visited her paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles in the USA several times. She is presently 16 years of age, and will turn 17 in November.

Margot is passionate about swimming and has competed on behalf of her region of France. In addition, she enjoys skiing, snowboarding, and snorkeling. Margot also loves to travel and has visited many parts of Europe.

Margot will be attending Camrose Composite High School, taking mostly Grade 11 classes. She will be hosted by four Rotary families:

a) Dan and Monica Macpherson: August to mid-November
b) Dawn Anderson: Mid-November to February
c) Don and Chris Rebus: February to end of April
d) Jerome and Pat Stetar: May to July

All members of our club are encouraged to get to know Margot and to actively expose her to Canadian lifestyle and culture through invitations to your home or to accompany you and your family to typical Canadian events or activities such as hockey or football games, rodeos, theatre, concerts, community/church dinners, museums, art galleries or even a movie. Please make her feel welcome in our community and club.
