The Buzz - March 27, 2017
Gala update.
Meeting called to order at 11:47am.
Health of the club is good.
The next executive meeting is at 5:15pm on Tues., Mar. 28 at the Casino.
Roy provided a summary of the International Projects questionnaire.
Mikkel update:
- Last Monday, went to an Oilers game.
- Tuesday to Thursday spent time helping Sheila take down her kitchen.
- Friday was a birthday party in Edmonton with other exchange students. Neon bowling, hot tub & watched a movie. After breakfast the next day, they went to West Edmonton Mall and saw the movie “Life.”
- Another birthday party on Saturday night.
- Cinnamon buns on Sunday morning followed by barbecued jalapeno cheddar smokies at night.
- Going to the Edberg bingo tonight.
Gala update provided by Dan:
- Dawn has the tickets, make sure to get yours.
- Tina has been in contact with some of the professional offices.
- D&D Vehicle Sales is sponsoring the champagne reception.
- Air/Army Cadets will be the table escorts and serve the appetizers.
- Mikkel will have a shelter box display.
- Ambient music will be supplied by Steven Olson.
- The illusionist Andrew Rufiange will provide table entertainment.
- Live painting by Chris Riley will be auctioned off.
- There will be two wine stations, gift card grab & go, 50/50 draw & bingo.
- Roy will provide an update on our Tanzania project.
- Super silent auction, silent auction & live auction (9 confirmed, 3 in progress)
- Volunteers needed – audio/video person, pay table, bingo & bid catchers, event setup, master of ceremonies
- Volunteer sign up sheet will be coming around next week.
Next week’s speaker is Victim Services.

Grant Gillot was the 50/50 winner and he drew the 10 of spades.
