This week marks the first meeting for new President, Dan Macpherson. May he have an exciting and productive year!
The Buzz – July 4, 2016
Meeting called to order by President at 11:45 am.
Guests – Mustafa, 2013 Exchange Student visiting from Turkey, and Calvin Skriver - member transfering Rotary Membership from Lac La Biche to Camrose.
Health of the club – Everyone is good and going on holidays.
Announcements:
a. Ashley White will be leaving for her Austrian Exchange 1 month and a day as of July 4, 2016. She has also taken her Level 5 in Royal Conservative Piano and plans on devoting the rest of her summer learning German.
b. Dues are due. For those that haven’t paid, it is $240 until mid-July and $250 thereafter. Please see Dan for payment by Credit Card or Grant to pay by cash or cheque.
c. A straw vote was taken to continue to sing along with a recording of O Canada or go acappella. After some discussion, it became clear it was undecided as there was points made for both sides.
Happy Bucks – Happy group today. There were many ranging from Sabrina getting her cast off, David S. celebrating his daughter's wedding, BBQ for Mustafa, Rosalind Centennial Celebration, International Car show, ski boat repaired and many more.
Speaker – Watched a video of Rotary International's Secretary General giving his vision for the upcoming year.
50/50 Draw – Grant G. won Draw but he failed to draw the Ace. Draw still up for grabs!
