  1. President Dave called the meeting to order at 1145 am – our first meeting on our new location at the Best Western Plus. There were 25 members present.

  1. Announcements: President Dave took us on a trip down Memory Lane, reviewing all the places the Club has met over the past 10 – 15 years, from a large room and small room at the Legion, to the Seniors’ Centre, the Golf Course, Recreation Centre and now the Best Western..  quite a journey.

  1. Health of the Club – Norm M is in hospital in Edmonton for a gall bladder operation and Paul P will check up on him. He (Paul) also delivered a quantity of magazines to doctors’ offices around town. Dawn is in Vancouver with Macie on one of his dream trips, so his weekly report is delayed until his return next week. Tyler spoke of his recent involvement with our club sponsored Air Cadet squadron and how impresses he was with their annual parade and with their wide range of activities and involvement in the community. The recent Air Cadet (NAME??) who practiced her competition speech at or cub a few weeks back has won the Provincial title and is going on to Nationals soon. It was suggested that the Chamber be approached as a possible additional “practice venue” for Cpl Ashley White  to speak at their next luncheon (bigger crowd).

  1. Judge/Greeter was Dan M and the call for Happy bucks was well supported by Tyler, Randall, Sheila, Paul and Dave S. Lou H was invited to remind members of the volunteer sign-up sheet for the Black Tie event. Dan then presented a detailed brief and update on details to date.

  1. Two more meetings before the 17th Annual Rotary Gala Celebration! The location is booked, entertainment lined up, decorations planned and the live auction items are 90% finalized. Members are reminded to make sure Tony H is made aware of the incoming silent auction items so that the item/donors can be recognized in the upcoming ads to promote the event. The publishing of the live and silient auction items should help not only drive some last minute ticket sales, but also allow some people to submit absentee bids should they wish to bid on the live auction items but they may not be able to attend. Please keep Tyler informed of the ticket sales as the numbers need to be submitted at the last meeting prior to the event. Dan thanked everyone for their contributions - big or small - as nothing can be accomplished alone.

  1. Tyler indicated that 226 tickets are still out with members, and that half at least are sold. Please confirm back to him asap on status of your sales.

  1. President Dave thanked Dan not only for this briefing, but for all of his hard work on the event, to which Dan thanked all of the folks who are helping him!

  1. The 50/50 winner was Ron G who did not pull the Ace of Spades, so the pot grows again.

  1. Ron led the Club in the 4 Way Test and then President Dave adjourned the meeting at 1:00 pm.
