Rotary Club of Camrose furnishes assisted living facility in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

The Rotary Club of Camrose, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Puerto Vallarta Pitillal, Mexico furnished a 24 unit, 48 bed assisted living facility in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Headed by Ron Grue, and supported by Camrose and Mexican Rotarians, the project involved construction of beds, cabinets and wardrobes for the new facility. The assisted living facility is the first of its type in Puerto Vallarta and will open in January of 2010.

The Rotary Club of Camrose raised $8365 for the project and received a Rotary International Matching Grant of an additional $8365 for a total project budget of $16,730. The grant covered the materials and construction expenses in Mexico; travel expenses for the trip were covered by individual Rotarians. The ability to obtain matching grants from Rotary International helps the local club expand the work it is able to do both in Camrose and abroad.
