Mason was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. St. Mary's was part of Hospital Hill, but no longer exists. He and his wife Diana have two daughters, Kim and Heather, and four grandchildren: Sean, Andrew, Emma, and Katie. Mason's studied Pharmacy at the University of Kansas, Marking and Sales Management at UCLA, and Business at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business Executive Education.
Mason's hobbies include: golf, tennis, basketball (especially the KU Jayhawks), and family travel. His favorite place for vacation is London while his favorite movie is Treasure of Sierra Madre. His favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck, of which he has a first edition (very cool!), and his favorite stage production is An Inspector Calls. Mason's favorite band is easy because it's the best of all time- The Beatles! He would have to decline the invitation to sing any of their tunes at karaoke night though. Mason's chosen super power would be to have the power of "The Force" from Star Wars (excellent choice!).
