Sock Kit Club Project
Roll up your sleeves! ScrapsKC is coming to the Shawnee Mission Rotary Club to lead us in a service project! As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit creative reuse center and retail store, Scraps KC inspires creativity in art and education, positively impacts the environment and provides hope for the homeless. ScrapsKC Executive Director Brenda Mott will speak to us about the history and mission of the organization. Meanwhile, our club members work to assemble "sock kits" with items that can be useful to people experiencing homelessness. Each club member will be encouraged to take his or her sock away following the meeting, to provide to someone they see in the community who could use the materials. Make sure to attend, so we can start 2020 strong with this group service initiative!
