The Rotary 5710 District Conference will be held May 5th and 6th at the Sheraton Overland Park Convention Center. During the conference there will be an opportunity to participate in a large scale service project by packaging meals with the assistance of the organization, Stop Hunger Now. About 795 million people around the globe are chronically malnourished. Club member Ed Coulter is coordinating the project and will be soliciting funds from each of the district clubs. The Shawnee Mission Rotary Club board voted at the January meeting to contribute $250 to the effort which will pay for 862 meals.
