Charles Goslin, sculptor, artist, friend and Honorary Shawnee Rotary Member, died on January 22, 2023. In 2003 when the Shawnee Rotary Club was deciding on a project to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Rotary International, a committee was formed and commissioned Charles Goslin to create a bronze sculpture that could be placed in a Shawnee park. The result was the "Lend a Hand" sculpture that is located in Listowel Park at 71st and Quivira. The sculpture was dedicated in September of 2004, five months before Rotary International's Centennial. Charlie's legacy of Shawnee art can be found throughout Shawnee in the form of sculptures, murals and paintings.

On June 9, 2021, on behalf of the Shawnee Rotary Club, President Robb Garr,  Linda Leeper and Joni Pflumm visited Charlie and his wife, Elizabeth, in their home and presented him with a Paul Harris Fellow and made him an official Honorary Shawnee Rotary Member. In a video that was taken from that visit, Charlie explained how he came up with the idea of a sculpture that would ultimately be an outstretched hand holding up the world.

The last sculpture that Charlie sculpted was installed on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.  It is named "Wild Bill Hickok" at Trail Scout Park, located east of Commerce Bank on Shawnee Mission Parkway.
