PJ Baker is a descendant from the Baker's of Louisburg and she came to share her grandmother's life story of living with polio as a farm wife and mother.
PJ's grandmother had many challenges in her life from contracting polio during her 5th pregnancy and loosing the baby due to a fall to being hospitalized for 18 months to becoming addicted to morphine.  She made the most of her life by baking cakes for the local folks, wrote letters to those that suffered from polio and spent their days in iron lungs, to wheel chair races in Harrisonville, to making home made silk/fabric flowers, to elaborate wedding cakes all while living her life in a wheelchair.
