Dr Deb Casey, president of Wor-Wic Community College, was our speaker tonight and she provided a thorough update on college programs.

The college's strategic plan has the theme "Inspired by Our Past.  Focused on Our Future".  That was the focus of President Casey's remarks.  She described Fiscal Year 2026 a year of momentum with enrollment up 8%, dual enrollment up 14%, a growing full-time enrollment, the strengthening of low-opportunity programs, expansion of high-value workforce programs, and connecting value-programs to good paying jobs.  There were more than 2,370 fundable full time equivalent students with a total headcount of 8,400 students in the last college year.

With more than 50 years of service to the community and primarily serving Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties, Dr. Casey indicated that about 90% of the graduates remain locally.   She summed things up by saying that the college offers high-value programs leading to good paying jobs with good paying jobs creating socioeconomic stability for families across Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore.
