Our Rotary Club of Salisbury, Maryland members saw and heard an interesting presentation tonight about the Salisbury-based regional airline Piedmont Airlines.
Piedmont CEO and President Eric Morgan, with more than 40 years of aviation experience, explained how Piedmont is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines along with PSA Airlines and Envoy.  Throughout its system, Piedmont operates about 500 daily departures with 2,000 customers.  Its 12,000 employees not only fly and maintain the aircraft, but also provide ground handling services at 80 airports.  The company has 71 aircraft in service.

Mr. Morgan noted that Piedmont is in the process of replacing many planes in its fleet with the Brazilian-manufactured Embraer aircraft, with the first ones to be placed in service in about one year with 45 on-line by the end of 2030.

Salisbury is an important part of Piedmont Airlines and the company is an important segment of the local economy and way of life.
