Want to live a happier, more fulfilling life? If the answer is a resounding YES, you don’t want to miss this meeting! Dr. Claudia K. Beeny is Founder and Executive Director of the “House of Shine,” an ambitious 501(c)3 non-profit organization that strives to help women and children discover their innate talents and gifts.  Dr. Beeny beautifully articulates the mission of the House of Shine on their website:

“Exposing people to their shine is a little like presenting them with a gift bearing a big red bow. And who wouldn’t want to play Santa Claus, delivering gifts to people all around the world?”

Dr. Beeny is also the co-author of Building a Strong Involving Community (BASIC), a workbook utilized by many in higher education and beyond, for understanding and developing a strong sense of community and reaping the inherent benefits. She also is a contributor to Live Happy magazine. In addition, Dr. Beeny is a 2017 recipient of the Legacy of Women Award from SafeHaven of Tarrant County.

Dr. Beeny holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration and a Master of Education in College Student Counseling and Personnel Services degree from The University of Georgia; and a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Arizona State University. She has worked in higher education for many years, including serving as Dean of Students for Bellarmine University, Director of Freshmen Seminar Instruction for the University of North Texas, and in-Residence Life positions for Miami University, the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and the University of Georgia.

Through her work at The House of Shine, Dr. Beeny has created and delivered K-12 curriculum that is currently being used in several schools in Texas and Florida, as well as curriculum for women, which is delivered through workshops and special programs. The House of Shine holds monthly “Rise and Shine” workshops for women and “Learn to Shine” gatherings for educators, as well as custom workshops for a roster of clients that includes Make a Wish Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Girl Scouts of American and The Young Women’s Preparatory Network.

Dr. Beeny is an experienced keynote speaker who has delivered presentations for corporate clients, educational agencies and nonprofit organizations. Throughout her career, Dr. Beeny has focused on creating experiences that allow people to connect with their innate talents and gifts, so that they can make a difference in their corner of the world. She is passionate about helping others find their purpose.

Dr. Beeny lives in Texas with her husband Richard and two boys, Matthew and Jack.
