Brett Ballard is a former University of Kansas player and Wake Forest assistant. He was hired to succeed Bob Chipman as head men’s basketball coach.

Ballard has served on Danny Manning’s staff for five seasons—three years at Wake Forest and two at Tulsa. “This is an incredible opportunity and I am excited to come home and coach at a university with an elite basketball program,” Ballard said. “Washburn is a place that has very high standards and also places a value on developing student athletes both on and off the court, and those were very important factors to me coming. Look forward to an exciting program as we welcome Brett's visit to our club.
