Meet TSR Rotarian Gerald Bergen

Seven Things About Jerry:
1. Briefly describe your occupation.
In the past two quinquennium I have worked extremely hard to make certain that no entry would appear on my calendar that would require either physical or mental exertion on my part. I have been reasonbably successful at that endeavor. Prior to that I was the Director of Student Financial Aid at that illustrous institution Kansas State and after that State Student Financial Aid Director on the staff of the Kansas Board of Regents.
2. What is your favorite hobby?
I have several hobbies none of which cannot be ignored for a good afternoon nap. I love to read, woodcarve, and do wood working projects, as long as they don't interfere with Item #1.
3. Who do you feel was a major inspiration in your life or career?
Other than my parents, my high school football coach was the greatest influence on my life.
4. What music genre do you listen to the most?
Most of my music listening occurs in the car and is Kansas Public Radio which has variations of music genre.
5. Describe your perfect vacation:
I'm living it!!!
6. How do you stay informed of current events or developments in your field?
To keep abreast of world events I read newspapers, watch newscasts, read three newsmagazines and discuss current events with friends. Then I make up my own mind what I believe.
7. What is your favorite sport or sports figure to watch?
My favorite sporting events are college & professional football, college basketball, track and the Iditarod. Baseball, golf, and tennis are minor sports.
