Last Week for Guatemala Donations

The Rotary-led Guatemala volunteer team in 2014.
 
This is the last week to donate supplies to the June 14-21 Guatemala trip with TSR members Faron Barr, Cynthia Hornberger and Jeanine Wells. If you can donate any of the following items, contact Faron. Or give cash or checks (payable to “Topeka South Rotary") to Faron or Craig Beougher. All donations must be received by Saturday, June 13.
 
Other Rotary-related volunteers going to Guatemala include Faron's wife, Ann; Jeanine's daughter, Brenda; and Rob Briman's wife, Carol, and their daughter, Amanda.

Wish List for Guatemala:
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Clothing for babies up to 1 year (needed for 25 infants)
  • Soccer balls, basketballs, volleyballs
  • Baseballs, soft balls, gloves, bats, hats
  • Pencils (not mechanical), erasers, sharpeners, rulers, crayons and other school supplies
  • Fabric, colored thread, needles, buttons, zippers, elastic, etc.
  • Portable sewing machines
  • Donation to purchase glucose strips
  • Donation to purchase children's multivitamins
  • Donation to purchase water filters: $50 each (needed for 100 families)
  • Donation to purchase cook stoves: $150 each (needed for 75 families)
 
  • 10 first aid kits for schools
  • Used laptops (need 20)
  • Donation to purchase materials for bedroom concrete floor: $100 (needed for 75 families)
  • Donation to purchase materials for beds: $75 (needed for 60 families)
  • Wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, portable potty chairs
  • Firefighter equipment: helmets, coats, etc.
  • Donation to purchase 2 microscopes at $600 each
Every volunteer can make a big difference in Guatemala, especially:
