Topeka South Rotarians served a week in Guatemala last summer.
On Dec. 15, the TSR board of directors approved designating the third-quarter proceeds of our weekly Can Money to a new medical project in Guatemala.
The money will help Woodland Charities to create two new medical examination and treatment clinic spaces in San Juan and San Pedro, Guatemala. Local schools will provide a room (or rooms) within a school in each community to establish the clinics.
Services at the clinic will focus primarily on primary-school children as well as childbearing women and their preschool children and infants.
If you would like to help donate equipment and supplies to this initiative – or are interested in spending a week serving in Guatemala with Topeka South Rotary and Washburn University this summer – please contact Cynthia Hornberger.
