I have a very personal request; it’s about the Group Study Exchange trip to the Dominican Republic that is scheduled for January 2020 and lasts for a month.  We need two more team members, and I need your help to find them.  D4060 District Governor Manuel Gomez-Achecar and I have become good friends.  I promised him that he would have good representation from District 6040.  You may have met or heard of the Dominican Republic GSE team members who traveled throughout our district this fall. They were delightful guests who were very proud of their beautiful island country and represented their District well. I have traveled in the Dominican Republic and it is a wonderful country with friendly people.  Bill Schmidt, our GSE Team Captain, is an accomplished international traveler with multiple visits to Africa and Haiti.  You will be staying with Rotarians throughout the trip and staying in their homes.

As already noted above, the trip begins in late January and ends in late February.  All expenses are paid, except for personal items.  Our goal is to send young professionals, but there really is no age limit.  Rotarians and non-Rotarians  are eligible to apply.

We had hoped to have selected four team members by now, since there is some training and coordination involved.  So I encourage you to be an applicant or to find a good applicant ASAP.  Please contact Rolfe McCoy; rolfe@msmdental.net with the name and email of any interested applicants.  He will immediately contact them and  send an application form.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Marc Horner
