Well we are entering the last quarter or the home stretch of the race to increase membership across the district.
We made a friendly competition this year to raise awareness to the importance of membership to each and every club and to Rotary worldwide. Helen Keller's quote captures it all "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
The competition is a cash reward of $1250 for 3 clubs, one reward in each category of club size small, medium and large with largest percentage growth for the district year. As of July 1, 2018, clubs with less than 24 where considered small, clubs from 24-45 were medium and clubs greater than 45 were large. Also, for member who sponsored the most new members would get a highly coveted district 6040 Each One Reach One Jacket in the same three categories.
If the drive ended today here are the clubs and Rotarians in the lead
Clubs with highest growth percentage wise:
Small: Unionville
Medium: Parkville, (Marceline would pass them with 1 new member)
Large: Independence
Rotarians with most sponsored new members:
small: no one with more than 1 sponsor, will have to figure out a tie breaker
medium: Don Kirkapile - Trenton, Jodi Krantz - Eastern Independence and Martial Thevenot - St Joe Southside
large: Carl Chinnery - Lees Summit, Jodi Sundaram - Liberty and Randall Smith - Kirksville
looking at the percentages the drive contest is fluid, a club could add 1 or 2 members and leap frog the leader. Also a club in the lead could lose a current member. so it is about attraction and retention. There is still time to make a difference in your club, Rotary and most importantly change the life of someone by introducing them to Rotary a life long family of friends and service.
