We had an exciting afternoon yesterday hosting the club level speech contest. We had 6 participants and each young speaker amazed the audience with their take on 'Service Above Self'. They incorporated themes such as aggressive humor, kindness to the earth and environment, superheroes like Spiderman, and the quiet service of school janitors and immigrant grandmothers to highlight the importance of helping others. We had some well deserved winners.
Thank you to our Emcee Sara, Timer Greg, Teller Nick, Food Coordinator Ruth, Lou for setting up the Zoom session at short notice, Brain and Steph for the winner checks, Binta for helping with certificates, President Robbie, judges and the entire audience for being there and supporting our youth.
