meeting summary Mar 1, 2011
President Sandi called
our meeting to order at 12:30 with the ring of the bell.
Dom Passinisi led our
pledge to the flag.
Roger Kao was our
greeter and gave the thought of the
day.
Alan Goodman led us in song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game".
President-Elect Anita Grossman invited introductions to
any visitors to the meeting. We welcomed Brad
Wardel, Chief of Mountain View Fire Department.
Club announcements by President Sandi
Bill Maston was praised for providing temporary
housing for the 24 year old Julian Benning, Rotaractor from Germany, while he
attends Stanford this quarter.
Congratulations to Anita Grossman who will be attending PETS training this weekend. (President Elect Training)
There was an ABC News Special on Sunday evening on Rotary’s effort to eradicate polio.
Mother’s Day Cards are available through District 5170 ‐ Honor mothers on Mother’s Day and help mothers in regions of the world protect their children from the spread of Polio. Your $25 donation will provide polio vaccines for 40 children.
If you are looking for a reason to go to the RI Convention in New Orleans, Bill Gates will be speaking on Tuesday May 24th from 3pm‐5pm on the End Polio Now Campaign.
The End Polio Walk scheduled for March 20th in San Jose. You can register on the district website.
The District website is also open for registration to the District Assembly on April 9th. This is an educational event for next year’s board, red badgers or anyone interested in attending.
“District Celebration”, May 7‐8, to celebrate all of our accomplishments throughout the year is also available to register on the district website.
Today was the last day for the “Princess Project”. This program was about donating a new or nearly new Prom dress to help south bay area girls who are in need of that perfect dress for the Prom.

and Fred to discuss the Stanford/Cal
men’s and women’s basketball. Ken
gave Fred a 30 point spread for the
women and 5 points for the men.
Judy asked some tough question to Roger Kao, Barry,
Jim, Heather, and Jerylann. All received help from their table mates.
Judy shared the meaning of Polio”+”. The “+” stands for the addition of vitamin A to the vaccine.

Pilot Program to the club
There were two options that were outlined and
discussed, Option 1,“Associate Member” and Option 2, “Corporate Member”. The
presentation will be emailed to all, so please review and bring question and
comments to the next meeting. The club will be
voting via email if we would like to put the club forward to participate in
this program and which options to adopt.
