The meeting was called to oder by President Elect Bruce Barsi.

Pledge of Allegience was led by Walt Joyce

Phil Armi led us in a round of "Row, Row, Your Boat"

Bruce was leading the meeting because of Judy's horrific week.  She' ll explain at a later time.

Announcements: 

      Monique Kane reported the Board of Directors approved spending $250 to donate to the Los Altos Rotary club

      in the name of  Mary Marley for the scholarship fund set up in her name. 

      Tom Myers also reported that the Board also recommended spending up to $300 for an ad in the District

      Conference Program honoring the past women presidents from our club.

      Alan Goodman said that there were only two people yet to report their crab feed ticket sales but it looks like

      we will net about $15,000.

Tori Corbett gave her Red Badge talk. Tori is a Mountain View native and has been involved in the residential real estate market for more than 20 years. she is also involved with the City of Mountain View mediation program. Tori attended elementary, Jr. and High School in Mountain View and  possesses the dubious distinction of every school she has attended has been shut down following her graduation. So far the only school to escape this curse is Foothill College. YOU GO GIRL!!   If someone could please notify the adult education dept. at Foothill to be on the lookout for Tori's application it would be greatly appreciated.

Vistiting Rotarian and Speaker: John Nadolski from Los Altos Club.

 
John spoke to us about the Living Water International Program that is focused on bringing potable water to developing countries. The program has completed more than 11,000 water projects throughout the world in the last 22 years. John shared some of the following statistics with us:
 
1 Child dies every 15 seconds due to water related disease
 
2.5 billion people are without adequate sanitation
 
783 million people lack acccess to safe water ( must travel at least 30 minutes for access )
 

approx. 2/3 of those without access to safe water live on less than $2 per day
